Who Doesn’t Like an Encore Adventure?
At 53-years-of-age, the sun was beginning to set for me on a long and satisfying career in what we all collectively term as “Corporate America.” It was a great run, made a lot of really good friends and we produced some oustanding work. Then it happened.
The “C” word…CHANGE. It can be scary, can be fun, and can be challenging. For me, it was all three. Yet I knew. It was time!
Time for a change for me and the company (or more accurately “companies”) that had provided me with a relatively secure, stable living for more than 25 years.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but my soul was longing for something more. That something more was…well…simple. A simpler life!
One that gave me a reason to catapult, not drag, my derriere out of bed each morning and also gave me the opportunity to stoke the flames of “old dreams” that could now become reality.
What’s the Blog About?
In simple terms, it’s about “faith and farm living.” And what life brings us in between.
You may have noticed my tagline is “Encore Living: Embracing the Joys and Challenges.” However, there’s a little “nuance” to this “encore life” or “encore living” theme I want to share with you.
You see, I’m not just talking about second careers or encore endeavors that some of us are fortunate enough to explore in this life, but also the importance of the encore life that takes place in its fullest extent after we die.
Intrigued? I hope so.
Why Should you Read my Blog?
You should read my blog if you are interested in the Christian faith, encore living, and farmgirl fare and fun!
I hope you’ll read if you have questions or concerns about your walk with Christ, or lack of, a walk with Him.
Maybe, God willing, you’ll read something here that triggers your desire to serve Him or perhaps serve Him more authentically.
